A creative project sometimes stalls before making begins because the needed software or a suitable computer is missing. Pratt Anywhere at Open Works offers another place to explore a digital design, learn a basic skill or prepare a file before deciding how an object might be produced.
The public technology lab is at 1400 Greenmount Avenue. Pratt lists computers with software including Adobe Creative Suite and 3D-printing design tools, along with public computer-training resources. Free Wi-Fi and accessible facilities are listed among its services.
The computer lab and Open Works' fabrication shops have different arrangements. Access to a public workstation does not establish permission to use a saw, printer or other shop equipment. Open Works separately provides information about memberships, classes and making facilities; check the requirements for the particular resource you need.
Call 410-862-0424 to confirm access and current opening arrangements, especially around holidays or weather closures. Bring a specific goal and somewhere appropriate to save your work. Completing a small digital task first can clarify whether the next step is more instruction, a revised design or a separately booked fabrication class.
